UM Stadium Should Be Ready For Vikings Game
Do you think the Vikings are ready to close the curtain on the ’10 season? What else can go wrong for the team that had such great hopes at the start of the season? Monday’s game scheduled for TCF Bank Stadium is the latest in a list of difficult challenges that have faced the team, its front office and its fans this season. Monday’s mix of the outdoor cold climate, fewer seats and a no-alcohol policy makes some wonder why any fan would even attend this game, so it will be interesting to see the type of lines that form three hours before kickoff for the first-come, first-served seats. But it is also the condition of the field that has drawn major scrutiny, as it should, from players and their union leadership. Bears CB Charles Tillman perhaps sums up the feeling for all the players when he says, “If the field is frozen, who the hell wants to play on that?”
