Headlines Across U.S.
The call for a new Vikings stadium is undoubtedly going to get much louder as the roof at the Metrodome collapses and rips open in several spots due to heavy snowfall in the Twin Cities. Vikings President Mark Wilf said a new stadium is currently not on the top of his mind, noting there “will be a proper time” to discuss a new venue for the team. But with the league moving tonight’s rescheduled Giants-Vikings game to Detroit and the availability of the Metrodome in doubt for the Vikes’ home finale next weekend, it is clear talk of a new stadium will not subside. That point is pounded home when national voices like Fox’ Howie Long are rhetorically asking, “You think they need a new stadium in Minneapolis?" Meanwhile, the Lions are doing all they can to accommodate their division rival. Tickets are given out free of charge and officials are hustling to get the field ready with Vikings logos.
