Alabama Tops SEC Football Attendance For First Time In 37 Years
Published December 16, 2010
Alabama averaged 101,821 fans per game this season after a south endzone expansion at Bryant-Denny Stadium, marking the first time in 37 years that a school other than Tennessee has led the SEC in home attendance. Tennessee has now not topped the 100,000 mark in attendance since '08. Michigan led all schools in FBS home attendance this season, their first following a $226M project to increase capacity and add premium seating at Michigan Stadium. Georgia football ranked seventh in home attendance while extending its sellout streak to 63 games, a streak that covers 10 seasons. USC led the Pac-10 in attendance for the seventh straight season, but saw its lowest average attendance since '03. Listed below is a home average attendance trend for schools which ranked in the top 25 in home attendance this season (THE DAILY).
