USOC Distributes List Of Candidates To Represent NGBs On Board
Published November 2, 2010
The USOC last week distributed a list of 10 candidates to represent the national governing bodies on the USOC board. The list includes six staff candidates who work at NGBs and four volunteer candidates affiliated with NGBs. NGB Council members will be able to cast one vote for an employee candidate and one vote for a volunteer candidate. The employee and volunteer finalists will be passed along to the USOC's Nominating and Governance Committee, which will review the candidates and recommend one of them to the USOC board for approval. The board will vote to determine if that candidate becomes one of its 15 members. The addition of another NGB representative to the USOC board follows a review of the USOC's governance by former NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue.
