Reds Attendance Up 11% After Big Summer Crowds Boost Gate
MLB attendance is down 1% as the final month of the season begins, with NL teams flat compared to the same period last season. The Reds, who were down double digits in June and were flat in attendance at the beginning of August, are now seeing an 11% increase from the same period in '09. The Rockies also continue to see a double-digit jump at Coors Field. In N.Y., the Mets are seeing a 15% drop in attendance during their second season at Citi Field. The Phillies lead all NL clubs with an average of 45,017 fans per game, which is up almost 2% from the same point in '09. The team also continues to fill Citizens Bank Park to 103% capacity.
