Poll: Sports Execs Expect NHL Business Metrics To Drop This Season
Published September 30, 2010
Sports executives feel that the NHL during the '10-11 season will not exceed last year's levels of ticket sales, sponsorship sales or TV ratings, according to results from a Turnkey Sports Poll taken in September. Of those execs surveyed, 55% predicted that ticket sales will be down from the '09-10 season, while 54% felt sponsorship sales will drop. The majority of execs surveyed also disagreed with the Panthers' decision to cover 2,500 seats in BankAtlantic Center's upper deck and sell sponsorship of the tarps to Party City. The September survey covered more than 1,100 senior-level sports industry executives spanning pro and college sports (Turnkey Sports Poll).
