Work It Out: San Diego, Charlotte Rank As Fittest Cities In The U.S.

Eight of the 10 fittest cities in the U.S. are located in the Sun Belt region, according to data from SGMA's Tracking the Fitness Movement study. San Diego topped all U.S. markets, followed by Charlotte and Miami-Ft. Lauderdale. The chart below shows the percentage of residents living in the top 10 fitness-oriented cities who participate in at least one fitness pursuit at the "core" level, which is defined as working out at least 50 times per year (SGMA).
