Stevenson Will Continue To
Teach At Duke Univ.
Wasserman Media Group Principal
GARY STEVENSON is
“leaving the firm, effective immediately,” according to Terry Lefton in this week’s SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL. Stevenson’s move “comes a little more than three years after he sold the OnSport consultancy he founded” to WMG. Senior VP
MALCOLM TURNER will assume Stevenson’s title as principal of WMG Consulting and will remain in N.Y. Stevenson said, “The agency business is not where I want to finish my career. ... I’m a big believer in change. I think there should be term limits on commissioners. New ideas are good for sports and clients. Everyone benefits from a new perspective.” He added of his future plans, “I’m going to whatever's next. I don’t have an exact plan. But I’m not retiring.” Stevenson said that he “will continue to teach the Business of Sport at Duke University” (
SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 9/13 issue).
