Kroenke Says He Will
Keep Rams In St. LouisStan Kroenke officially takes control of the Rams after being approved as the majority owner of the team by the NFL yesterday. The $450M deal for the remaining 60% of the team is structured so he will gain half of it now with the rest coming at a later date. Kroenke must end his day-to-day involvement with the Nuggets and Avalanche by the end of the year, then has until December ’14 before he has to turn all financial involvement in the teams over to his 30-year-old son, Josh. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell: “We spent an awful lot of time on this over the last few months.” Stan Kroenke immediately reaffirms his commitment to keep the Rams in St. Louis, something that Chip Rosenbloom and Lucia Rodriguez had long sought. However, at least one local columnist remains somewhat skeptical, as Bryan Burwell writes he will “continue to raise an eyebrow to his every move” regarding a possible relocation back to Los Angeles.
