Woods' Struggles Hurting PGA Tour Ratings The PGA Championship gets underway tomorrow at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin, and as with most majors the past 14 years, all eyes are on Tiger Woods, though not for the normal reasons. Woods’ struggles this year -- on and off the course -- have played a part in television ratings being down across the board, and TV partners are starting to see a drop in ad revenue for golf events. The PGA Tour is due to renegotiate its network contracts in two years, and Tim Finchem has to hope that Tiger can rebound to his pre-Thanksgiving level of play soon. Meanwhile, Golf Digest is bringing Woods out of the mothballs, as its September issue features the first instructional column bylined by Tiger since January.
