  • Chevy To Be Focus Of GM's Super Bowl Buy

    It appears PR concerns that forced companies to keep sponsorship deals under wraps after the market collapsed two years ago are starting to dissipate. GM publicly announces it is increasing its advertising spend to its pre-bankruptcy days, highlighted by a package around Super Bowl XLV that includes at least two in-game ads promoting Chevrolet. The automaker also will buy time during regular-season NFL games and other marquee televised events, such as the Academy Awards. GM’s declaration comes after news in recent days that Wells Fargo is putting its name on the PGA Tour event formerly titled by Wachovia and several smaller companies, including Jamba Juice, are attempting to make large sponsorship splashes.
