    A sad day for baseball with the death of George Steinbrenner on the morning of its Midsummer Classic this evening. Tonight’s game will surely be a memory-filled mosaic of the late Yankees Owner, who is described this morning as “a visionary and a giant in the world of sports.” Yankees President Randy Levine added, "There will never be anyone like George Steinbrenner. He was the greatest owner in pro sports. He was an inspirational figure. There are not many people like him in the world." Steinbrenner was clearly “one of sport's most controversial and fascinating figures,” and The Boss was known for “his colorful and tempestuous style." His "aggressive business tactics widened the Yankees' lead as baseball's richest team while irking other owners," and his business vision can be traced to the YES Network, which "set the standard for team-owned cable stations.
