  • James, Wade Set To Hit Free Agent Market

NBA teams have spent the past couple years getting into position for this moment, and when the clock strikes midnight, they will embark on the "most highly anticipated and significant free-agency period" in league history. More than six teams are in position to land a franchise-altering star, perhaps none more coveted than LeBron James. Whether James will spurn his hometown Cavs for Madison Avenue, South Beach or somewhere else remains to be seen, but another battle is brewing in his inner-circle between longtime partner Maverick Carter and trusty advisor William Wesley. With Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh also up for grabs, a boatload of big names will be on the prowl tonight, including James Dolan and Jerry Reinsdorf. Also making a strong push are Mikhail Prokhorov and Jay-Z. In addition to greeting LeBron in Ohio, the Nets Owners make a bold move into Knicks territory by erecting a giant billboard next to MSG.
