Turnstile Tracker: AFL Averaging 7,755 Fans Through June 12

The Arena Football League (AFL) after a one-year hiatus is averaging 7,755 fans per game through June 12. The new AFL -- which has combined AFL teams, expansion franchises and clubs from the old af2 -- is down from the former AFL's final average during its last season in '08, when the league averaged 12,958 fans per game. The Tampa Bay Storm lead the league this season with 14,349 fans per game at St. Pete Times Forum. The club also led the league in attendance in '08 with an average of 16,793 fans per game. Several of the clubs who made the jump from af2 to the AFL are seeing gains in attendance this season, including the Tulsa Talons, Milwaukee Iron, Alabama Vipers and Bossier-Shreveport Battle Wings. But the Spokane Shock, who led af2 with 10,413 fans per game last season, are down slightly in their first AFL season. Listed below is AFL regular-season attendance through June 12 (THE DAILY).
