ABC Earns 11.5 Overnight Rating For Lakers' Game Three Win
The Lakers’ 91-84 win Tuesday night in Game Three of the NBA Finals earns an 11.5 overnight rating for ABC, marking the highest number for the third game since ’04. With all three games thus far posting double-digit gains over last year, as well as healthy gains on the ’08 Celtics-Lakers matchup, there can be no dispute of the impact the decades-long rivalry is having on Finals ratings. There also is some off-court news making headlines surrounding the ownership of a couple NBA clubs. The league formally approves Ted Leonsis’ long-awaited takeover of the Wizards, allowing him to take his role atop the franchise prior to the team making the first selection in the Draft in two weeks. Meanwhile, the Clippers are thwarting reports that David Geffen is exploring buying a controlling interest in the team.
