    Dan Lozano Leaves
    Beverly Hills Sports Council

Prominent MLB player agent DAN LOZANO "has left the Beverly Hills Sports Council," according to Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com. Lozano, the agent for Cardinals 1B ALBERT PUJOLS and "several other prominent major leaguers," has been with the firm since '89, and his departure is "likely to have major ramifications within the industry." Pujols' contract with the Cardinals expires following the '10 MLB season, after which the Cardinals own a club option for the '11 season, and he is "expected to sign an enormous contract in the aftermath of big recent deals" for Twins C JOE MAUER and Phillies 1B RYAN HOWARD. Lozano's other clients include Phillies SS JIMMY ROLLINS and Rangers 3B MICHAEL YOUNG, and it is "uncertain what their plans are in the aftermath of his departure from Beverly Hills" (ESPN.com, 5/25). In St. Louis, Joe Strauss reports Pujols and the "majority of Lozano's clients are expected to follow him from Beverly Hills" (ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH, 5/26).
