Colder January Weather Slows Revenue For U.S. Golf Facilities

Poorer weather in January contributed to large declines in rounds of golf across the U.S. compared to the same period in '09, according to data from The PGA of America and National Golf Course Owners Association. January rounds were down 20.0% from the first month of '09, while days that courses were open were down 14.1%. Revenue data was collected from 868 facilities across the U.S., showing that median gross fee revenue, along with all other gross revenues, were off from the same period last year (PGA of America/NGCOA).
