    Games Part Of New Deal

The headlines so far during the NFL offseason largely are dealing with the latest free agent signings, but the league has signed two new deals that will greatly increase its presence among mobile content consumers and Web surfers. A new four-year deal with Verizon, which replaces Sprint Nextel as a league partner, will see the distribution of both live games and the popular RedZone Channel through the company’s mobile devices. The move partners the most popular sport in the U.S. with the country’s largest wireless operator. It also marks a “significant shift” for the league, as live footage of every game will be available. The league previously had not allowed mobile access to Sunday afternoon games. Meanwhile, the league’s new partnership with Hulu.com provides fans on-demand access to more than 400 hours of NFL content. The revenue-sharing deal is called the “next step” in the league’s Internet business.
