Jeff Moorad, Tom Garfinkel Partner With Richard Childress Racing
Published March 1, 2010
Padres Vice Chair & CEO Jeff Moorad and President & COO Tom Garfinkel have entered into a partnership with Richard Childress Racing to "assist the Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series organization in its business development and growth opportunities as well as strategic planning," according to Bill Center of the SAN DIEGO UNION-TRIBUNE. Moorad and Garfinkel currently "participate on RCR's internal advisory group." Moorad and Garfinkel were part of a group that purchased the Hall of Fame Racing NASCAR team from Fox NFL analyst Troy Aikman and Pro Football HOFer Roger Staubach in '07. But the race team "suspended operations after the 2009 Sprint Cup season" (SAN DIEGO UNION-TRIBUNE, 2/28).
