Super Market: New Orleans Scores Big Local Ratings On Sunday

New Orleans was the top Nielsen metered-market for all of the live CBS Super Bowl programming on Sunday, beginning with a 19.0 local rating for the first hour-long segment of "The Super Bowl Today" from 2:00-3:00pm ET. CBS' Super Bowl pregame show eventually saw all metered-markets hit double digits by the time the 5:30-6:00pm segment began. The Crescent City scored a 56.3 local rating for the Super Bowl telecast from 6:30-9:45pm, and then improved on that number to reach a 58.6 rating for the postgame celebration and Super Bowl trophy presentation. DC, which was blanketed by a snowstorm over the weekend, ranked second among all metered markets for the game telecast with a 56.0 local rating. The market earned a 46.7 rating for last year's Steelers-Cardinals Super Bowl under better weather conditions.
