The storm clouds may be clearing for the embattled USOC, as Chair Larry Probst vows to serve out the remaining three years of his term and reiterates his belief that the organization will see a new CEO in place in time for the Vancouver Games. While U.S. NGB leaders called for his resignation in October, Probst says he is "fully engaged" in righting the ship, and USOC BOD member Mike Plant praises Probst's renewed commitment to the organization and its constituent groups. Probst adds that the USOC hopes to narrow the list of six CEO candidates to one or two by New Year’s Day, which alleviates one of the biggest concerns in the search process -- that a new leader would not be in place by the start of the Olympics in February. Meanwhile, sports media consultant Neal Pilson predicts that NBC Universal will win the U.S. rights to the '14 and '16 Games.
