User Friendly: NHL.com Tracking Visitor Gains For October

NHL.com for the month of October was up double digits in unique visitors and time spent per user when compared to both October of last year and September '09, according to data from Nielsen Online. Yahoo topped all sports sites in unique visitors for the month of October, drawing in 35.8 million, up 40% from a year ago, but off 6% from last month. Seven of the top 10 sites in terms of unique visitors last month had double-digit year-over-year gains, but declines from September '09. In terms of average time spent per user, ESPN.com visitors spent the most time at 58 minutes, 43 seconds (58:43). The chart below lists the top 10 sports sites, ranked by unique visitors from work+home, for the month of October, with comparisons to October '08 and September '09 (Nielsen Online).
