VANOC named RUSTY GOEPEL Chair, replacing JACK POOLE who died last month. Goepel was a provincial representative of VANOC and was also part of Canada's original bid team (CTVOLYMPICS.ca, 11/18).

EXECS: Foot Locker's BOD elected President & CEO KEN HICKS Chair, effective January 31, the beginning of its next fiscal year. Hicks succeeds MATTHEW SERRA, who will retire from the company and BOD on January 30 (Foot Locker)....EPL club Arsenal announced DICK LAW will become "the club's fixer on transfer deals and the re-negotiation of contracts for existing players. Arsenal is "adamant that Law is not to be regarded as a director of football and that he is only a consultant" (London INDEPENDENT, 11/19)….The Sabres named GRANT LEDYARD Dir of Youth Hockey Development (Sabres)….The Nationals named DAVEY JOHNSON Senior Advisor to the GM (Nationals).
