Obama To Appear In PSA With Three NFLers To Promote NFL Play 60

Watch Obama's Youth Fitness PSA
President Obama will appear in a 90-second TV PSA promoting youth fitness "during all three [NFL] games on Thanksgiving Day," according to Michael McCarthy of USA TODAY. The spot, which depicts Obama playing pickup football on the White House lawn with Saints QB Drew Brees, Steelers S Troy Polamalu and Cowboys LB DeMarcus Ware, is a "joint effort between the NFL's Play 60 campaign to fight childhood obesity and the president's United We Serve public-service effort" (USATODAY.com, 11/19). The ad encourages children "to be active for 60 minutes each day." Obama in the PSA wears a Bears jacket and "runs a post route and catches a pass from Brees" (NYTIMES.com, 11/19). The PSA also promotes Obama's "community service initiative United We Serve." A "shorter version of the spot will air throughout the season" (AP, 11/19).
