Double Birdie: PGA Tour Names Quail Hollow Tourney Best In Class
Published November 19, 2009
The Quail Hollow Championship was named the best event on the PGA Tour in '09 by the Tour’s tournament business affairs group. The Tiffany trophies were presented to tournament directors during their annual meetings last night in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. The most decorated event for '09 was the Crowne Plaza Invitational in Ft. Worth, which received three awards and was also the runner-up in the Best in Class category. The Tournament Advisory Council awards, created last year by the PGA Tour’s tournament business affairs group, expanded from 11 to 13 categories this year to include awards for best pro-am and best use of players.
