| Jets Owner Says Negotiations With Several Naming Rights Sponsors At A "Serious" Level |
TAKING CHARGE: Chargers Special Counsel Mark Fabiani last week met with Populous about a possible new stadium in downtown San Diego, and he "pegged the cost of the project" between $750M-1B. Fabiani said that initial plans call for a 64,000-seat stadium, with "all the luxury boxes on one side" and "shops, bars and restaurants" on the first floor. He said, "We're not that far away from releasing drawings." Fabiani added that the Chargers hope to "complete a preliminary financial analysis in two months" (VOICEOFSANDIEGO.com, 11/15).
EARN YOUR STRIPES: A Yankees official said the team produced "at least $200,000" this past season by selling seats in the Yankee Stadium suite turned over to the team by New York City. In comparison, the city's suite at Citi Field is "expected to bring in about half of that," though since the Yankees and Mets "don't have to provide official accountings until 120 days after the baseball season ends, both figures are estimates" (N.Y. POST, 11/16).
