MLS Real Salt Lake coach Jason Kreis said Owner Dave Checketts' plan to sell 49% of the team to Utah developer Dell Loy Hansen is a "good situation" for the franchise. Kreis said that there is "'no question' the team could use the improvements that 'a little more capital' could provide, such as a training facility closer to Rio Tinto Stadium than Xango Field" in Lehi, Utah, the team's current practice venue. He added, "There's still a few things we need to get better with our club" (SALT LAKE TRIBUNE, 11/12).
GREEN ACRES: The Celtics this season have taken strides to be more active with social media, and team President Rich Gotham said, "We want to be where our fans are and increasingly that means being out there on social networks." He added, "There's a whole generation of fans who are even bypassing e-mail and choosing to communicate and be communicated to through social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter, and we want to engage those fans in those environments where they're most comfortable and engaging." Gotham noted Celtics officials "don't ever want to interfere with the game itself," and added, "You have to have a sensibility about it." But he said, "What we try to do is provide that behind-the-scenes access that you won't find anyplace else" ("Street Signs," CNBC, 11/11).
TICKET TO RIDE: Coyotes President & COO Doug Moss said the team this month will begin operating "Coyotes Express," a program that "offers fans a discounted game ticket and shuttle service from two different East Valley locations to Jobing.com Arena." Fans using the shuttle can purchase $20 upper-level tickets or $30 lower-level seats. The shuttles will depart the selected locations 90 minutes before a game, and will leave the arena 20 minutes after the game's conclusion (EAST VALLEY TRIBUNE, 11/12).
