HSBC Extends Title Sponsorship Of LPGA Singapore Event
Published November 9, 2009
HSBC announced early Saturday morning that it has extended its title sponsorship of the LPGA event in Singapore for an additional three years. An LGPA spokesperson said the tournament, owned by IMG, has also agreed to extend its sanctioning contract with the tour. The '10 HSBC Women’s Champions will take place Feb. 25-28 and feature a limited-field, 72-hole event. The purse, which was among the largest in women’s golf at $2M, has been cut to $1.3M. Tournament organizers are still finalizing plans for the host course and television coverage. The addition of Singapore brings to 19 the number of events with verbal or contractual commitments for '10. The announcement was made during the HSBC Champions in China, the fourth WGC event on the PGA Tour.
