Galloway Leaving PepsiCo  After 14 Years With Company

In this week's SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, Terry Lefton reports Gatorade VP/Marketing JOHN GALLOWAY is leaving PepsiCo after 14 years. Galloway "served in various roles" within the company, including Pepsi VP/Sports Marketing & Media from '01-06 and Mountain Dew Brand Manager. There is "no word on his replacement" (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 11/2 issue).

BROWN OUT: In Cleveland, Tony Grossi reported the Browns last week "quietly dismissed" Dir of Team Operations ERIN O'BRIEN, who had been one of coach ERIC MANGINI's "confidantes both here and with the Jets." A Browns spokesperson said O'Brien resigned "for personal reasons." Sources said that O'Brien had "burned so many bridges that Mangini could not save her job." Grossi noted when Mangini was hired by the Browns, he "wanted O'Brien to serve the same function she had with the Jets, which was assistant to the head coach." Sources said that he was "denied that request" by Browns Owner RANDY LERNER, and O'Brien instead was given the Dir of Team Operations role (Cleveland PLAIN DEALER, 11/1).
