  • Redskins Under Fire From Press After 2-5 Start

The Redskins have a 2-5 record and fans are seemingly becoming fed up with Owner Dan Snyder’s free-spending ways that do not produce on the field. But the team’s front office says it has not seen a significant drop in fan interest and has taken on the influential Washington Post for its coverage. Redskins COO David Donovan yesterday goes on local radio and says the Post has been “relentlessly hostile” in its coverage of the team, which has helped create a negative attitude toward the team among fans. Donovan claims the paper “treats professional sports like politics,” and that the style of reporting “just doesn't happen in other cities.” However, the POST’s Len Shapiro writes the front office brass is “in total denial about what's wrong with this football team,” as the public backlash is coming from a “clearly agitated fan base after 10 years of major mismanagement.”
