NHL Debuting New Facebook Page Today With Added Features

NHL's New Facebook Page Will Feature
Tighter Integration With Flagship NHL.com Site
The NHL today will unveil a redesigned Facebook page that will feature a tighter integration with its flagship NHL.com site, a large suite of video and enhanced social media content, and the ability to trade virtual gifts such as team jerseys. Built in collaboration with N.Y.-based Buddy Media, the effort reworks a more traditional league Facebook hub that to date has garnered more than 147,000 followers. A tab within the new Facebook page will additionally allow for a “Black Ice” look that mirrors the design template of NHL.com. “The idea was to create an experience that doesn’t duplicate our home page, and an environment where people can have some more fun with the league,” said NHL Dir of Social Media Marketing & Strategy Mike DiLorenzo. "All the fan research and analytics that we’ve also built into this page on the back end are also going to give us some powerful tools to learn a lot more about our audience. That’s something we’re really excited about, and will give us the ability to be very dynamic in how we program this page.”
