Amway To Sponsor Magic's Practice Jerseys And Training Camp

Magic-Amway Practice Jersey Deal
Is Third Such Agreement To Be Signed
Amway yesterday announced a multi-year deal to sponsor the Magic's practice jerseys and to serve as the presenting sponsor of the team's training camp. This comes after Amway in August reached a 10-year, $40M naming-rights deal for the team's new arena. This is the first season in which NBA teams have been granted clearance to place sponsorship on their practice uniforms. The Magic-Amway deal is the third such NBA agreement to be signed, following the Nets (PNY Technologies) and Suns (The Annexus Group). Magic Owner Rich DeVos is the co-Founder of Amway (THE DAILY). In Orlando, Beth Kassab wrote it was "long suspected that Amway ... would be the first company to buy the space." Magic VP/Communications Joel Glass said that the team "could not disclose the terms of its multi-year deal" (ORLANDOSENTINEL.com, 10/21).

MORE BARS IN MORE PLACES: In Dallas, Brandon George reports the Cowboys' practice jerseys "had a logo on them for the first time Wednesday with AT&T's logo appearing on the left side." AT&T "will retain that sponsorship the rest of the season." AT&T also has "signage throughout Cowboys Stadium, including the 60-yard video board" (DALLAS MORNING NEWS, 10/22). ESPNDALLAS.com's Calvin Watkins noted Cowboys players "wore a small blue patch with the AT&T logo on their practice jerseys during Wednesday's practice" (ESPNDALLAS.com, 10/21).
