What's Up For The Weekend With Jets K Jay Feely

Feely Hosts ESPN Radio
Show On Saturday Mornings
As part of THE DAILY's "What's Up For The Weekend?" feature this week, Staff Writer Jessica Collins takes a different tact by talking to Jets K JAY FEELY to see what else is on the weekend schedule for a pro football player outside of the Jets' game against the Bills Sunday afternoon.

Q: What are your plans for this weekend?

Feely: This weekend we play the Bills in an AFC East matchup. Coming off two losses, we desperately need to get back on the right track with a win. My big break from what is a traditional pro football routine for me is on Saturday mornings, when I host a one hour show on ESPN Radio in New York from 7-8am with BRANDON TIERNEY, one of the best in the business these days. It's a good diversion and gives a chance for the fans to call in and have some fun with BT and me.

Q: What is your weekend exercise routine?

Feely: Exercise is very limited on the weekend other than the actual game. In fact, I get a massage every Friday, ice bath Friday afternoon, and usually watch a movie and relax with my kids Friday night. Saturday we have meetings and a walk-through for two hours and then have six hours off. We then meet at the hotel for another round of meetings and a final speech from REX RYAN. All my activities for the week are focused on preparing myself for the game both mentally and physically.

Q: What is a weekend must read?

Feely: I am an avid reader on a variety of topics. History, politics, religion, parenting and sports are my favorite topics. I usually read three or four different books at a time to keep interested. I also have to stay sharp on politics and current events because I have a monthly spot with SEAN HANNITY on Fox News, so that is a priority so I know what is going on outside the NFL. At the hotel Saturday night I get some time to read the N.Y. Times and the Wall St. Journal, which I may have missed during the week. I may pick up the Economist or Golf Digest for some easier reading.
