NBC's "30 Rock" Spoofs Net's Sports Lineup During Season Premiere

Krakowski's "30 Rock" Character Records Theme Song For NBC's Tennis Coverage

Thursday night's season premiere of NBC's "30 ROCK" poked fun at the NBC Sports lineup. Jack Donaghy, played by ALEC BALDWIN, asked Jenna Maroney, played by JANE KRAKOWSKI, "Do you know the song, 'Are You Ready For Some Football?'" Jenna: "Do I! That’s what my phone plays whenever RAY LEWIS calls me." Donaghy: "Well, you are going to record a rollicking new Southern rock theme for NBC Sports." Liz Lemon, played by TINA FEY, then asked, "What sports does NBC have these days?" Donaghy: "Off-season tennis." Later in the episode, Jenna was shown recording the new NBC Sports theme song -- a direct parody of the current "SNF" theme performed by FAITH HILL. The song includes the lyrics, "It's tennis night in America. I got some buds and some brews, it’s gonna be a fight" ("30 Rock," NBC, 10/15).
