Forbes' Richest Americans With Interests In Sports Business
FORBES has released its annual list of the 400 wealthiest Americans, with entry to the list set at a minimum of $950M, down from $1.3B for the previous two years. Among those with sports business interests dropping off the list from last year were UFC co-Owners Frank and Lorenzo Fertitta (FORBES, 10/19 issue). In Ft. Worth, Andrea Ahles noted Forbes' list indicates that Cowboys Stadium has "already added to" team Owner Jerry Jones' net worth, as he is "one of only 28 members of the Forbes 400 list to increase their net worth during the recession this year" (FT. WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM, 10/1). Meanwhile, Majestic Realty Co. Chair & CEO Ed Roski earlier this month "doubted that a loss of $1[B] in personal wealth over the past year would hurt his plan to bring pro football back" to L.A. (SAN GABRIEL VALLEY TRIBUNE, 10/6).
