UNION LINE: The WALL STREET JOURNAL's Hannah Karp reports the NFLPA this month is "rolling out a new, cheaper line of merchandise in Walgreens, Kroger and Cub Foods." T-shirts, caps and mugs will feature players including Vikings RB Adrian Peterson and QB Brett Favre, Patriots QB Tom Brady and Bengals WR Chad Ochocinco. The players "won't be wearing NFL uniforms since the league owns the rights to the logos" (WALL STREET JOURNAL, 10/6).

THAT'S SWEET: Jeremiah Weed Southern Style Sweet Tea vodka will serve as the primary sponsor of the Roush Fenway Racing No. 26 Ford driven by Jamie McMurray for the October 17 Sprint Cup Series NASCAR Banking 500 only from Bank of America. The brand becomes the first vodka to sponsor a car since NASCAR lifted its ban on spirits sponsors beginning with the '05 season (Jeremiah Weed).
NOTES: Musician Fergie has filmed a PSA for the NFL's breast cancer awareness campaign, "A Crucial Catch: Annual Screening Saves Lives." The PSA, which reminds fans of the importance of breast cancer screenings, will air in NFL stadiums through October (NFL)....The Flyers have reached a new corporate sponsorship agreement with US Airways to become the official airline of the Flyers. The deal includes in-game promotions and contests for fans, as well as rink-side dasher board signage at Flyers home games at Wachovia Center (US Airways).
