Twins Sign Casino As Second Target Field Founding Partner
Published September 24, 2009
The Twins have signed Treasure Island Resort & Casino as the second founding partner for Target Field, the club's $412M ballpark opening in April. The Indian gaming facility near Red Wing, Minnesota -- about one hour's drive southeast of the Twin Cities -- agreed to a three-year contract for naming rights to the Twins' radio network. The deal's value is seven figures annually, confirmed Twins President Dave St. Peter. The network's 78 stations span Minnesota, western Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota and northern Iowa. Treasure Island as part of the deal also receives brand exposure on one of four permanent signs attached to the facility's outfield video board. Treasure Island joins U.S. Bank as a founding partner. It is the Twins' first title sponsor for their radio network.
