YAHOO SPORTS' Dan Wetzel writes when Nike execs met in January '84 to discuss their NBA strategy, "none of them knew much, if anything, about a skinny, 6-foot-6 shooting guard from North Carolina named Michael Jordan. They certainly couldn't have dreamed what he would mean to their company" (SPORTS.YAHOO.com).

SI's Richard Deitsch writes in his '09 overview of NFL broadcasting, "Studio analysts often stay in the same gig for a number of years. Same goes with the top broadcast teams outside of the occasional roster tweak or two. … But this offseason produced some seismic shifts in the NFL broadcast marketplace" (SI.com).
