STILL MARKETABLE: In Boston, Thomas Grillo reports Patriots LB Tedy Bruschi's retirement yesterday "won't jeopardize his endorsement deals," as he is "set to become a spokesman" for Boston-based Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital. Meanwhile, Savings Bank Life Insurance President & CEO Robert Sheridan said that his company is "in the second year of a deal with Bruschi, with an option for an additional year." Sheridan: "We would like our deal to continue" (BOSTON HERALD, 9/1).
FALCON SCRATCH: In Atlanta, Henry Unger reported the Falcons and the Georgia Lottery have partnered on a $5 Falcons-themed instant scratch-off lottery ticket "that will debut after Labor Day." The grand prize for the game is $500,000, with other prizes including season tickets and a trip to an away game on the team plane. Georgia Lottery spokesperson J.B. Landroche said that the Falcons were "paid a licensing fee." Falcons and lottery officials will hold a news conference Thursday to discuss the partnership (AJC.com, 8/31).
PHILLING A VOID: The Phillies have agreed to a four-year partnership with Delaware-based plumbing, heating and AC company Horizon Services. The new partnership features a broad-based media package that includes signage on the left field scoreboard at Citizens Bank Park, which was installed prior to Friday's Braves-Phillies game (Phillies).
