COLLEGES: The LSU Board of Supervisors last week approved promotions for AD JOE ALLEVA, who added Vice Chancellor to his title, and Senior Associate AD HERB VINCENT, who now is the "head of LSU's communications and university relations for the Baton Rouge campus and not solely focused on sports." Alleva's change is "considered most ceremonial and his salary of $350,000 per year will not change," but Vincent's salary has increased from $137,000 to $160,000 annually (Baton Rouge ADVOCATE, 8/30)....UNLV has promoted Dir of Media Relations ANDY GROSSMAN to Assistant AD for Media Relations & Communications, and Associate SID MARK WALLINGTON to Dir of Media Relations (UNLV).
EXECS: Former Quiksilver President BERNARD MARIETTE, a "key force behind the company's 2005" acquisition of Skis Rossignol SA, was named CEO of Montreal-based Coalision, which makes clothes "inspired by skiing and snowboarding" (OCBJ.com, 8/27)....The ECHL has promoted Manager of Business Operations RYAN CRELIN to Dir of Business Operations (ECHL)....The D'Backs Saturday officially introduced former MLBer LUIS GONZALEZ as a Special Assistant (ARIZONA REPUBLIC, 8/30).
