Burton Has Left
Rivals.com
SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL's Eric Fisher reports Rivals.com COO BOBBY BURTON has "left the company, following the April departure" of CEO SHANNON TERRY. Burton said that his departure is "amicable and indicated a desire to reassess career goals." Rivals.com now will be led by KYLE LAUGHLIN, who earlier this year assumed "day-to-day duties for all" of Yahoo Sports. Fisher notes Burton has a "noncompete clause of undisclosed length," while Terry's runs until next spring, and "at some point, the pair intends to return to digital sports media, though precisely how and when are undetermined." Burton and Terry in the interim have invested in a BBQ restaurant near Nashville (SPORTSBUSINESS JOURNAL, 8/24 issue).
