Field & Stream: Radio Show Combines College Football, Nashville
Published August 21, 2009
A new radio show that combines college football and country music will debut later this month as a collaboration between the Motor Racing Network (MRN) and South Carolina-based Fishbait Marketing. "College Football Country" will launch August 29 and gear itself for college football tailgaters with a combination of football talk and country music. MRN veteran Jason Toy, a former player at Marshall Univ., will host the show from 8:00-10:00am each Saturday year-round. Toy's guests will include country music artists and college football players and coaches. MRN President David Hyatt likens the new college football show to MRN's "NASCAR USA," which similarly combines NASCAR and country music. Fishbait represents several coaches associations, including the American Football Coaches Association, and will play a role in bringing current and former coaches to the show. Fishbait also will feature tailgating recipes, road-trip tips and advertiser-branded vignettes.
