Nets Giving Fans Who Purchase 10-Game Ticket Packages Five Reversible Jerseys

The Nets are giving fans who purchase a 10-game ticket package for the upcoming season five reversible jerseys featuring a Nets player on one side and a star from another team on the other side. The jerseys of Cavaliers F LeBron James, Lakers G Kobe Bryant, Magic C Dwight Howard, Celtics F Kevin Garnett and Heat G Dwyane Wade will be given away as part of the promotion. The ticket package, which begins at $350, also includes a four week subscription to the N.Y. Post (THE DAILY). Nets CEO Brett Yormark said that he "went to the league office to get approval for the idea and faced no backlash." He added the team's tickets for the '09-10 season "will also feature pictures of players from the opposing teams" (CNBC.com, 8/13). DEADSPIN.com’s Barry Petchesky writes the plan is an “interesting proposition.” The Nets are “essentially saying to fans, if you want these sought-after replica jerseys, you’re going to have to take our team’s stuff with them” (DEADSPIN.com, 8/13).

MAP QUEST: The Nets are among the teams targeted by a bill proposed by New Jersey Office of Legislative Services that would end the use of taxpayer dollars by teams that do not include "New Jersey" on their uniforms. FanHouse.com's Jay Mariotti said, "If you haven't heard this team is probably moving to Brooklyn where they have broken ground on an arena, so why would Jersey put 'Jersey' on the jersey?" SHOWING THEIR STRIPES: The Bobcats will debut new uniforms for the '09-10 season, with design elements including "orange pinstripes on the white home uniforms" and blue "as the primary color" for road unis. The design became public "about a month before the team intended" when trading-card company Panini released video of a recent rookie photo shoot. Bobcats Dir of Basketball Communications B.J.
