Something More: Concert Goers To Receive Iowa State BBall Tix
Published August 12, 2009
Country duo Sugarland will perform at Hilton Coliseum in Ames, Iowa, on September 17, and concert goers will "receive tickets for one of two" Iowa State men's basketball games -- January 3 against the Univ. of Houston or January 9 against North Dakota State, according to Randy Peterson of the DES MOINES REGISTER. The concert is the "first cross-promotion since the Iowa State athletic department took over management of Hilton Coliseum last summer." Iowa State Senior Associate AD Steve Malchow: "What came along with management of Hilton Coliseum were opportunities for revenue sources other than athletic events. ... We're always looking for revenue streams beyond what we already have there." Iowa State AD Jamie Pollard: "The idea is to put Hilton Coliseum back on the map when groups tour" (DES MOINES REGISTER, 8/10).
