  • U.S.-Mexico Should Boost Profile Of Mun2

Tomorrow’s World Cup qualifier between the U.S. and Mexico could go a long way in determining the expectations for the American squad at next summer’s event, but it also likely will give a fledging cable network a needed boost from U.S. consumers. Mun2’s English-language telecast of the match will be available in around 67 million homes thanks to several major companies -- including Time Warner, Comcast and DirecTV -- providing a free preview of the action from Mexico City. The deals more than double the exposure for the channel, which is a sister station of Telemundo geared for bicultural Hispanics in the 18-34 demo. ESPN is home to most U.S. qualifying matches, and though it will not carry the game, it will be on hand for an unprecedented live pregame show.
