American City Business Journals (ACBJ) parent company Advance Publications yesterday promoted ACBJ Senior VP WHITNEY SHAW to President & CEO, effective immediately. Shaw succeeds his father, RAY, who passed away on July 19. In addition, ACBJ CFO KIRK SHAW has added Exec VP to his title. ACBJ is the parent company of THE DAILY (ACBJ).

Blackhawks Hire Longtime AHL Wolves GM Cheveldayoff

FRANCHISES: The Steelers changed Chair DAN ROONEY's title to Chair Emeritus after Rooney earlier this year became U.S. Ambassador to Ireland. Steelers Communications Coordinator Dave Lockett said the change went into effect when Rooney was officially appointed ambassador; no one has succeeded him as Chair (AP, 8/1)....The Blackhawks have hired AHL Chicago Wolves GM KEVIN CHEVELDAYOFF as Assistant GM (Wolves).
