PITCH: Fox Soccer Channel (FSC) earned a 0.8 cable rating and 383,000 viewers for last Sunday's Mexico-USA Gold Cup final, marking the net's highest-rated and most-viewed telecast since becoming a Nielsen-rated network last October. Meanwhile, Univision drew 5.384 million viewers for the match, making it the most-viewed sports telecast on broadcast TV for the weekend, as well as the net's largest audience ever for a Gold Cup match (THE DAILY)….The World Football Challenge (WFC) averaged 152,000 Hispanic HHs on ESPN Deportes for six matches. The Club America-AC Milan match on July 22 was the most-viewed Spanish-language program on cable for the month of July with 282,000 Hispanic HHs (ESPN).
….AND CATCH: Tuesday night's Pirates-Giants game on CSN Bay Area delivered 141,150 HHs in the S.F./Oakland/San Jose market, marking the most-watched Giants game on the network this season (CSN Bay Area)….On Wednesday, FS Midwest earned a 13.4 local rating for the 15-inning Cardinals win over the Dodgers, marking the net's highest-rated Cardinals game since September '07 (FS Midwest)....The Rays-Yankees three-game series this past week on Sun Sports (one game) and FS Florida (two games) averaged a 5.5 local rating in the Tampa-St. Petersburg market, marking the highest Rays three-game series average this season on the networks (ST. PETERSBURG TIMES, 7/31).
