REPORT CARDS: CSN Philadelphia averaged a 6.2 local rating for Phillies games entering the MLB All-Star break, up 19% from a 5.2 through the same period last year (CSN)....YES Network has averaged a 4.6 local rating for Yankees games entering the All-Star break, marking the highest average rating for baseball on a N.Y. RSN. The 4.6 rating is flat with a 4.5 for the same period last year (YES)....SportsNet N.Y. averaged a 3.2 local rating for Mets games prior to the All-Star break, the highest-ever first half rating for the Mets on any N.Y. RSN. The 3.2 average is up 14% over the same period last year and 5% over the same period in '07, which marked the previous record high (SNY)....FS Houston averaged a 3.1 local rating for Astros games entering the All-Star break, down from a 3.2 for the same period last year. The 3.1 rating ranks 22nd in MLB (HOUSTON CHRONICLE, 7/17)….Rogers Sportsnet averaged 319,000 viewers for Blue Jays games entering the All-Star break, up 13% over the same period last year (Rogers)....CSN Bay Area averaged a 5.2 local rating for the July 9 Padres-Giants game, marking the highest-rated Giants game on the net since a 7.8 in August '07 when LF Barry Bonds hit his record-breaking 756th home run against the Nationals (CSN).
GOOD AS GOLD: Galavision led cable viewing last week among Hispanic men 18-49, watching in English or Spanish, with its live Gold Cup telecasts, led by 389,000 viewers in Latinos 18-49 for the July 7 Canada-El Salvador match. Soccer on Galavision also drew more Hispanic men 18-49 than anything on English-language networks. Meanwhile, Fox Sports en Español drew 73,000 viewers in men 18-49 for the Recopa tournament on July 9 (HISPANICMARKETWEEKLY.com, 7/15).
NOTES: The premiere last Saturday of A&E's "Keyshawn Johnson: Tackling Design," which follows the ESPN analyst's interior designer career, averaged 527,000 viewers (THE DAILY)....The CBC drew 384,000 viewers last Sunday for coverage of the Calgary Stampede rodeo, marking the most-viewed English-language sports event in Canada for the weekend. The CBC averaged 250,000 viewers for all of its Stampede telecasts, up 3% over last year. Meanwhile, TSN drew 174,000 viewers for Sunday's Honda Indy Toronto race, ranking as the 11th-most viewed telecast for the weekend (THESTAR.com, 7/15).
