ProServ Founder Donald Dell Inducted Into Int'l Tennis HOF
Published July 13, 2009
The Int'l Tennis HOF Saturday inducted ProServ founder Donald Dell, the sport's first player agent who has been a "mover and shaker in the game for the last 40 years," according to Mike Szostak of the PROVIDENCE JOURNAL. Dell in '72 co-founded the ATP, which has since "evolved into the current ATP World Tour," and also founded the Legg Mason Tennis Classic in DC. Dell currently is Vice Chair of the HOF and serves on USTA PR and Davis Cup committees (PROVIDENCE JOURNAL, 7/12). Dell's clients as an agent included ARTHUR ASHE, STAN SMITH, BOB LUTZ and CHARLIE PASARELL. Dell also was a "commentator for PBS" when the net launched regular coverage of tennis (BOSTON GLOBE, 7/11).
