    Bivens Asked To Resign
    In Letter From Players
A group of LPGA players in a letter to the tour's BOD has called for the resignation of Commissioner Carolyn Bivens, perhaps the greatest threat to her leadership since she took over the position in September '05. The move is a culmination for what has been a tumultuous couple years for the LPGA, as the tour has lost seven events since '07 and currently boasts six sponsorless tournaments. The future also remains uncertain for several tourneys long revered by the players, the Jamie Farr Classic and the Wegman's LPGA. Bivens' business plan may have contributed to the loss of sponsors, as the current structure reportedly imposes added costs on tournaments. The players assert that the trying times cannot be blamed entirely on the economy and express a desire to rebuild relationships with longtime sponsors.
